Simple Living Classics
From time to time we like to reprint "older" articles that we feel helped shape the "simplicity movement" of today. . . .
In 1996, the League of Women Voters commissioned The New Road Map Foundation (the folks behind Your Money Or Your Life) to write a white paper on consumption as it relates to the future of the earth. The resulting work, From "Excess" To "Enough", outlines the hidden social and environmental costs of North American patterns and levels of consumption, reveals the generating causes of the problem and suggests directions to look for solutions. Finally, it describes some features of a low-consumption, high-fulfillment society.
